Yahoo - I’m Connected Again

I am so excited… I have internet at home again!

Over the last month and a half, I found that I’m not actually addicted to the internet, I just have poor habits related to it. :D

Over the next week or so I’ll be updating the site with photos from my last few sessions, but for now I wanted to share a few of my recent favorites of my own beautiful kids.

Here’s my oldest; I just love his eyes! He has a really hard time looking at the camera for any length of time (like, 2 seconds…), so I was surprised he gave me such a nice - direct - smile.

Yes, this was taken in our car. I was on the way to one of my sessions and saw the light behind him when I looked back at him. It turned out way better than I expected, and now it’s hanging on my wall. I’m sure that somebody really skilled with Photoshop could remove that seat belt, but I can’t do it and make it look realistic, so it stays. LOL

My daughter’s next. We went out for a walk last week since the weather was warm enough to play at the park for a bit, and I took the camera along after realizing I hadn’t taken any portraits of my own kids for a while.

I love how this photo turned out. It was late afternoon and all the leaves on the ground behind her really captured the warm light. You can’t really tell, but the look on her face says “Okay Mom, is this good enough? Can I go now?”

Lastly, my youngest son. I find him to be the most amenable to my practicing, so I have tons of photos of him. It’s always hard to choose a favorite, too, but this one immediately became a favorite!

The funny thing about this photo is that he had been “getting in the way” while I was trying to take photos of his older brother. I’m glad he was so insistent. :P He was doing something weird with his mouth (I think he might’ve been trying to blow a bubble), but it doesn’t detract from the image.

I’ve got tons of emails to go through - those that I saved over the last month plus (no time to read at the library, lol), but I insisted on getting at least one quick post up here today. Thank goodness my kids have been (mostly) patiently waiting for their turn on the internet. :D

    Keri,
I think his eyes are still trying to determine which color they are. I love the brown streaks that go through the rest of his iris, though I haven’t quite determined what color the rest is. LOL

These pictures are all great, but I have to pick a favorite. The picture of your youngest is truly fantasic! It looks like it should be in a magazine!! Very nice work!

    Gail,
Thanks so much. I’ve noticed how often he actually does that with his mouth after writing what I did above, so it’s truly a capture of his personality.
