Meet Joy

I don’t usually share the names of the children I photograph, and Joy is just a baby.

But she’s my new baby, and I’m comfortable telling you her name.

You won’t be seeing a lot of her here, but you’ll be seeing a lot from her.

Isn’t she beautiful?!!

She’s small, but I’m expecting big things from her.

She was posing on one of my new gold chairs for me, since my kids didn’t want to. Here’s another one so that you can get a better idea of the beauty of that chair.

Here’s my other wonderful gold chair, sitting by itself.

It looks forward to having your kids for company.

No photos of my faded salmon/peach/pink chair yet; it needs a good cleaning first.

Up next? Probably some photos of some young boys blowing dandelion fluff. Fun stuff!

Trying Out The New Chair

Near sunset last night I took the kids out in the front yard to try some environmental shots.

I had S. dress up in a tutu that she’s had for a while (and it’s probably the last time she’ll wear it), and sit in the chair for me.

I got some great shots of my daughter, but I don’t think they really gives the environmental feel I’d like to get.

I think I’ll bring this chair out at the session I’m doing in Old Town in a few weeks… if I can wait until then!

A Fun New Prop

New to me, though I’m not sure how new it truly is.

Looks like it may have come from the 1970’s!!

I love the shape and the color of this chair! I’m so excited to get out and do some environmental portraits with it… that seems to be all the rage these days and I enjoy the ones I’ve seen.

I think my little one is as pleased as I am.

Or more.

p.s. I got this for only $5 at the local thrift store

p.p.s. It’s staying in my minivan unless we really need the room in the back

It’s Just Tutu Cold For This

I made this yesterday, in anticipation of warmer weather, but woke to snow this morning.

Maybe if I buy some of those cute knit hats, the sun will come out again.

I’ll be making this in all sorts of colors over time. If you have a session coming up and you know you (or your child) would like a specific color, let me know at least a week in advance.
